Sergio Zunino
SZO Process & People
After his service as an officer in the German Armed Forces, Sergio M. Zunino began a 37-year career at Bayer, with assignments in Berlin, the USA, Spain, South America, and at the company’s headquarters in Leverkusen. Over the years, he assumed increasing responsibilities – from his appointment to the “Treuhandanstalt” Agency for the privatization of state-owned enterprises, to establishing Bayer’s first Shared Service Center, to serving as CFO & CAO in South America and as global process owner for Sales and Revenue Accounting. He played a key role in shaping Bayer’s current group reporting system and was substantially involved in major transformations, including the integrations of Schering and Monsanto. In doing so, he developed a comprehensive understanding of cross-functional processes, their cultural and local requirements, and their alignment with overarching corporate needs – most recently demonstrated by leading the global accounting integration during the Bayer-Monsanto merger across some 130 subsidiaries.
Currently, Mr. Zunino provides interim and consulting services as CEO and owner of SZO Process & People GmbH, serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Success for Solutions AG, and is advancing the development of innovative products in veterinary medicine through the founding of NgenLab Germany GmbH.
