Mathias Born is the Founder and Managing Director of payactive, the first regenerative European payment platform. The company enables businesses with recurring payments to save up to 20% on payment costs – while making a significant contribution to climate protection.

With over 15 years of experience in the banking, payments, and fintech industry, Mathias is a recognized expert in Open Banking and payment technologies. Before founding payactive, he held key roles at ING in Germany and Austria, shaping strategic initiatives in innovative payment solutions.

His focus is on how modern payment technologies can not only drive efficiency and cost optimization but also embed sustainability deeply into companies’ financial processes.

Outside of work, Mathias is an avid kitesurfer and wakeboarder, often traveling across Europe’s coasts and mountains in his van.
